Biographical Sketch

Mr. Colombo is the program manager for EduTel Communications Inc. a federally recognized non-profit 501(c)(3) educational organization. He formerly directed academic technology and managed web development for Simmons College in Boston. His responsibilities included developing and overseeing the college web site, coordinating communication between the web office and all departments in both the undergraduate and graduate colleges along with providing Internet based professional development for faculty and staff. He also directed the EnviroNet network that was established under a previous National Science Foundation award. He has academic and professional experience in environmental sciences as well as an outstanding telecommunications background in networked science. He taught environmental sciences in grades six through twelve for nineteen years and served as a consultant for a NSF/NIE grant entitled "WhaleNet" with Wheelock College in Boston. He has given numerous telecommunication workshops at local, regional, and national conferences for science education during the past few years.
